Cost of Sessions

My fees are $150 per 50 minute session. I accept cash, check, or credit.  Below is some more information about using out-of-network insurance benefits if that is a possibility for you.  I am not an in-network provider, but you can clarify with your insurance provider whether or not they offer "out-of-network" reimbursement for mental health services. I also offer a sliding fee scale based on income for clients who may require that.  We can discuss this more during our phone consultation in the event that you have other questions.

Out of Network Benefits

Mental Health services may be covered in part or in full by the health insurance plan. Below is a list of some questions that could be helpful to run by your insurance providers in order to obtain further information on this:

Do I have "out-of-network" mental health insurance benefits?

What is my deductible and has it been met?

What is my "co-insurance"?

How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

What is the coverage amount per session?

Is approval required from my primary care doctor?

The way that out-of-network coverage works is that you would provide payment at time of service (either by cash, check, or card), and then your insurance provider would reimburse you for the cost.

Benefits of Paying Out-Of-Pocket

Insurance companies mandate a clinical diagnoses for treatment, which I prefer to reserve for cases only where such a diagnosis would be beneficial for you to receive the best possible care.  Also, insurance companies may attempt to access your records while undergoing the therapy process and may limit the amount of sessions they cover, at their discretion.  Paying out-of-pocket can also increase sense of accountability and motivation in the therapeutic process.  For many people, this personalized approach to treatment is the best fit.  Please feel free to reach out with any further questions.
